First Holy Communion

"I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry."

Receiving the Eucharist for the first time is a deeply joyful and sacred moment. At All Saints, we are honored to walk with families as their children prepare to encounter Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist. 

Children begin preparation in January of their second-grade year, with monthly Saturday gatherings. We use Received from Ascension Press, a beautifully designed program that draws families into the mystery and meaning of the Eucharist. 

In May, the children participate in a special half-day retreat, where they spend time in prayer, reflection, and joyful anticipation of receiving Jesus for the first time. The First Communion Mass follows shortly after. 

Our goal is to help every child understand that the Eucharist is not just a ritual -- it's a relationship. A relationship with Christ that nourishes, strengthens, and sustains them for a lifetime.
